Seahorse Class - News

In year 1 and 2 we are taught by Mrs Myers and Miss McCloskey.
We are taught phonics/spelling followed by maths and literacy in the morning. In the afternoon we are taught a creative curriculum over a range of subjects.  Keep looking at our class page to see what we are up to !
Green day !
At Cambois Primary School we work hard to be 'Green'. This includes reading, completing our homework, punctuality and behaviour. At the end of this half term we had a green trip with a difference. We had high expectations in year 1/2 and this was rewarded with a scrumptious lunch of chicken nuggets or hot dogs with chips and then.......our own bouncy castle !! A great way to end the half term.
We had a visit from Marley and Lisa today. We all had a great ride (including Mrs Myers !) and stroked Marley. He is lovely and we really appreciated Lisa bringing him for a visit.
Our topic in Design and Technology is 'Playgrounds'. We have looked at structures and joining plus doing our own research into playground equipment. We had a fantastic afternoon creating our own playground using lots of different materials. We worked as a team and showed resilience when things didn't go quite the way we wanted ! Look at the photos below to see our design process and finished products.
In year 1/2 we have been talking about Harvest and the Jewish Festival of Sukkhot. We worked as a team to make our own Sukkhot huts. You can see the results of our 'creating' below.
Mad Science Day !
We had a brilliant day with Bionic Bex and Mad Science. We joined in with a lot of experiments and talked about different sources of power. We even talked about our carbon footprint and how we can prepare for the future.
'Here We Are'
Oliver Jeffers.
Our world can be a bewildering place, especially if you've only just got here. Your head will be full of questions , so lets explore what makes our planet and how we live on it.
We will be using this book to link to Geography, Literacy and PSHCE this week. Our activities will be on Seesaw ready to share. We can't wait to get started !
The Hodegheg
We have been reading 'The Hedgehog' by Dick King Smith as our class story book. We went outside to collect Autumn leaves on a sunny Friday afternoon. We used these Autumn leaves to create our own Hodgeheg. Take a look at the photos below !
Look who is coming home for the weekend !
How lucky are we ? Everybody is getting a soft and cuddly teddy bear to take home along with a Rainbow Kit. Over the weekend try some of the brilliant activities in the box and see what you can create. Take a photo alongside your bear and up load it to Seesaw. We cant wait to see what you both get up to !
Bear Up date !
Look at what we got up to with our bears and Rainbow kit. We have been very creative and imaginative as you can see.
We have loved finding out about the Great Fire of London during our first week at school. We can certainly answer the When? Why? and How?. Click on the link below to find out more about Samuel Pepys who wrote a famous diary. I wonder if he ever found his wine and cheese ?
