20th March UPDATE
Dear parents/ carers
It is with a heavy heart that today we close our doors for most our pupils.
I am so lucky to work with such amazing people and children every day and the true community spirit in Cambois is like nowhere else.
School will reopen to those children who parents are key workers, front line staff and classed as vulnerable. I have spoken to those parents in person or on the telephone today to yesterday to find out how we can operate this plan.
Staff will remaining working throughout this time; including holidays and for lots of staff this will be unpaid work. I thank them. This is above and beyond what their role is.
My staff team have a timetable of support that involves some working directly with identified pupils for timetabled times each week, some whom will be deep cleaning the school and some whom willl be involved in the providing and supporting with feeding our children in this challenging time. Some staff who have to social isolate due to their own health needs or who have a caring role for children who need to see isolate will continue to work from home.
I personally will call every family every week to speak to you all and ask how your children are. Some staff may pop to your home to check how you all are.
We will keep in constant communication via text and facebook and give you ideas of what to do with your children and how to support your children educationally but most importantly emotionally during this time.
I ask that you do not call the school office as we will be operating on a small skeleton of staff. Would you please use my email or the office admin email to get in touch with me. I ask for this to be emergency queries only.
We have no further information than you do at present.
It is important that during these difficult times we remain positive and work together. It was a difficult day today seeing our pupils smile and be their usual wonderful selves and wonder when normality will resume. Hopefully this will be sooner than expected. Until then we all at Cambois wish you well and good health to you and your families.
Mrs Allan xx
