Online Safety

Internet safety, often known as online safety, is about using the internet and digital technologies in a safe, responsible and respectful way. It helps children understand how to protect their personal information, recognise potential risks, and make informed choices when using websites, apps, social media and online games. In today's digital world, internet safety is an essential life skill. By teaching children how to stay safe online, we help them enjoy the many benefits of technology while reducing the risks associated with cyberbullying, inappropriate content, online scams and contact from strangers. Working together with parents and carers, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

At Cambois Primary School we have extensive security measures in place, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our Online Safety Policy. Online safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we can work with parents to ensure the online safety message is consistent.  Below are some websites and videos that we use in school. You can help us by looking at them and then discussing with your children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
